Latest Road Crash Fatal
Gardaí at Newcastle West are investigating a two-vehicle fatal road traffic collision.
This latest road tragedy occurred on the N21 at Ballintubbrid, Newcastle West, Limerick, late last night, shortly after 11.30pm.
The 36-year-old male unaccompanied driver of one car was killed when he was in collision with an SUV which had two occupants, both of whom were uninjured.
The deceased was removed to Limerick Regional Hospital.
The road was closed at the time but has been re-opened since 6am this morning.

Garda Appeal For Witnesses To Fatal Co Limerick Road Accident
An 82-year-old woman has died in a road accident in County Limerick. Gardaí said the woman was crossing a road at about 17:45 on Sunday in Croom, when she was hit by a car. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured.

63-Year-Old Dies In Co Limerick Road Crash
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a fatal road crash in Co Limerick this morning. A 63-year-old man died in a two vehicle collision on the R523 in Athea at around 07:10am on Friday. Another man, understood the be 33, was taken to University Hospital Limerick, his injuries are not thought to be serious.

Three Friends Die In Limerick Crash
Three people have died in a tragic road crash on the N21 in Co Limerick. The men, who are all believed to be friends, died while travelling in a van that was in collision with a car shortly after 9pm at Garryduff on the Newcastle West to Tralee road.

Limerick Tunnel Opens
Taoiseach Brian Cowen will open the long awaited Limerick Tunnel today at 1pm. The route now cuts under the River Shannon and links Coonagh on the northern bank with Bunlicky on the southern bank. There are two toll plazas located on the north side of the river and it will cost €1.
