Double Stabbing Leaves Two Teen Girls In Hospital

A teenage girl is under arrest following the stabbing of two other female teenagers in Co Waterford.

The two young victims were recovering on Monday in hospital following the early morning stabbing in Waterford.

A 19-year-old was struck in the back and a 17-year-old suffered a minor leg wound when they were attacked in the John's Lane area at 2.15am.

Both women were in Waterford Regional Hospital where their injuries were described as non-life threatening, with the youngest girl since released.

An 18 year-old, who has yet to be named, was arrested shortly afterwards for public order offences and remains in garda custody where she can be held for up to 24 hours.

A garda spokeswoman said the scene remains cordoned off for a technical examination.

A man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing incident in Waterford city yesterday. Gardai were called to Church Road in Lisduggan after 6pm where a man was discovered with stab wounds to his back and legs. Journalist Ella Shanahan, has passed away in her County Waterford home. Ms Shanahan, 60, was the former London Editor of The Irish Times. She will also be remembered for her work in the RTÉ newsroom in the 1970s.

Motorcyclist Killed In N11 Collision
A motorcyclist has died in a road traffic collision on the N11, between Enniscorthy and Wexford town. Garda have launched an investigation after a man, aged in his 40s, died when his motorcycle collided with a car on Thursday afternoon.
