Gardaí are investigating allegations that the two elderly bachelor brothers sustained injuries during a fight with a third man in a field near their home at Rylane, outside Coachford in Co Cork.

A post mortem examination will be carried out today on the body of a man who is understood to have had a heart attack while in the ambulance.

The 65-year-old was pronounced dead when he arrived by ambulance at Cork University Hospital at 6.30pm on Tuesday evening.

The man's brother, who was also in the ambulance, is described as being in a stable condition.
