Armed Robbery Teen Suspects Freed

The teen pair arrested in Co Tipperary on Sunday in connection with a probe into an armed robbery have now been released from gardaí custody.

The two teenagers, aged 16 and 17 were initially arrested in connection with an investigation into the robbery of a couple at gunpoint at their home in Dublin.

According to Gardaí, they were quizzed in connection with a break in at a house in Kilcoran Avenue, Clondalkin, in the early hours of Sunday, when the occupants were threatened with a handgun.

The assailants then stole a car and two mobile phones before fleeing from the scene.

Hours later police pursued two people who were spotted trying to steal a car in Templemore, Co Tipperary and they were arrested by gardai following a chase.

The car originally stolen in Dublin was later found burnt out in Tipperary.

A file is now being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions on the teens who were released without charge last night.

Man Dies Following Tipperary Car Crash
A man in his 20s has died following a car crash in Co Tipperary. The single-vehicle incident occurred on the N24 at Lacken, Kilshane at 4.40am this morning, Wednesday 07 February.
