Ryanair Found Charging Customers For Nothing
Ryanair has allegedly been passing on extra costs to customers which it is claimed the airline doesn't actually have to pay.
An investigation by an Irish newspaper has claimed the budget airline was charging over €15 a head for taxes and fees, which had were no longer applicable.
The taxes and fees airport charge only applies to a route the year after its introduction, but the Ryanair started implementing the charge four months before they were supposed to on their Glasgow and East Midlands routes.
Although these two routes are now axed, Ryanair has been reportedly turning a huge profit by charging consumers erroneously.
A statement from the airline said: "In most cases passengers travelling from Cork will not pay any taxes and charges as Ryanair absorbs these costs in order to make these routes attractive."
The Ryanair website lists a €24.12 add-on as €18.13 in taxes and fees and €5.99 in insurance/wheelchair levy/aviation insurance, so after deducting the €2.50 security charge, the company is still charging an extra €15.63, the newspaper report claimed.

Ireland is to be awarded an EU grant of €1.5m to introduce electro-mobility. The funding will be mainly used to install 3,500 charging posts around the country. Delays At Airport After Planes Clip On Runway
Minor delays were caused at Dublin Airport this morning after two Ryanair flights clipped each other while taxing to a runway. According to witnesses one plane lost a small section of its wing when it clipped another plane. No one was injured in the incident and the airport quickly returned to normal.
