Cowen To Meet With Mother Of Teen Missing In Spain

The mother of missing 16-year-old Amy Fitzpatrick (pictured) who disappeared in Spain is to meet with Taoiseach Brain Cowen today.

The teenage girl, originally from Clarehall in north Dublin, disappeared on January 1st. She was last seen leaving a friend's house at around 10pm to walk to her home in the Costa Del Sol.

She had no money, phone or passport.

Amy's mother Audrey and her partner Dave Mahon will meet the Taoiseach at lunchtime to update him on the investigation.

Amy had been living with her mother, Mr Mahon and her 17-year-old brother Dean in the Riviera del Sol tourist resort in Mijas for the past few years.

Last month the family launched an appeal for financial help to hire a private investigator.

Her Dublin-based father, Christopher has also called upon Spanish authorities to release CCTV footage from the route Amy would have taken home.

An extensive search in July, involving more than 200 police officers and volunteers, took place in Fuengirola and parts of Marbella afterwards, but failed to unearth any clues.
