Drivers Issued With Wet Weather Warnings
Weather warnings have been issued to drivers in the south and east of Ireland, following heavy rain in parts of Dublin, Wicklow and Cork.
The wet conditions have results in flooding and increased surface water.
Drivers are advised to use dipped headlights, allow extra time for any journey and maintain a safe stopping distance while travelling.
Resident and businesses on Arklow’s Lower Main Street have already put flood defences in place, after warnings of heavy rain and high tides, which is expected to cause flooding later this afternoon.
Several premises in the town were damaged as a result of previous flooding.
In Bray, Co Wicklow a manhole has opened near the Ballywaltrim Church as a result of flooding.
In Dublin, the N7 southbound at Junction 2 Kingswood under the flyover has been reduced to one lane due to flooding.
There are also reports of flooding on the N81 from Blessington to Tallaght.
