Wines And Spirits Distributor Sold During Market Boom
A business support services group has acquired FindlaterGrants, the Irish wine and spirits distribution business for a huge €9.6 million.
The 32 employee strong FindlaterGrants distributes wine and spirits to multiple retailers, as well as off licences, restaurants and hotels throughout the Republic of Ireland.
The news comes as new figures reveal sales of wine in Ireland have seen a boom of 7.2% on last year.
The Revenue Commissioners figures show that almost 9.2 million cases of wine were sold this year, equivalent to almost 82.8 million bottles.
The buyers of the previously C&C-owned company, DCC, have said it expects to generate a significant commercial and operating partnership from the purchase with its own wine distribution business, Woodford Bourne.
