Teenager Dies After Car Crash In Sligo
An 18-year-old man has died following a car crash in Sligo during the weekend.
The single-vehicle accident happened in the early hours of Sunday morning near Riverstown. The 18-year-old driver lost his fight for life at Sligo General Hospital yesterday evening.
His front-seat passenger was also seriously injured in the crash.
The news comes after reports on Wednesday reveal that the man struck and killed by a Luas tram in February had just left the A&E Department of Tallaght Hospital.
The man, Anthony Creed, from Bawnlee Close in Tallaght, Dublin, had just left the hospital after being treated.
The 59 year-old had been complaining of chest pains before being struck by a Luas Tram near the junction at the Tallaght Hospital stop, Dublin County Coroner Court heard on Wednesday.
A gardaí investigation found everything was in order on the light-rail vehicle and that the vehicle was travelling below the speed limit of 40km/h at the time of the incident.
Following the hearing, the jury recorded an open verdict and recommended the introduction of taller fences at the tracks.
