Two Men Critical Following Separate Stabbings
Two men are in hospital following two vicious stabbing incidents on Thursday. A man in Dublin received stab wounds to his face in an attack in the Maryland area of the Coombe, Dublin shortly before 3pm.
Gardaí in Dublin are investigating the incident and have arrested four people, three males and one female, in connection with the stabbing. A 22-year-old man is detained at Kilmainham Garda Station, while the other two men, 25 & 28, and one woman, 21, are detained at Kevin St Garda Station.
The victims injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
Meanwhile, a man is in critical condition in a Letterkenny hospital following a harrowing attack in Donegal.
Kristian Shortt, 28, the son of nightclub owner Frank Shortt, was found lying unconscious in a pool of blood in a Letterkenny apartment by local gardaí at around 7am.
Gardaí were called to the apartment after receiving a call from a man at 6.45am. The man was arrested at the scene and is said to be helping gardaí with their inquiries.
Gardaí are also looking for a second man in relation to the incident in which Mr Shortt was stabbed up to 30 times, according to Gardaí.
Frank Shortt spent three years in jail due to a wrongful conviction of allowing drugs to be sold at his nightclub, The Point Inn, in Inishowen.

Gardaí have arrested a suspect in the stabbing of the son of framed publican Frank Shortt, after capturing him at a border checkpoint. The 35-year-old man, from Dublin, fled the flat where Kristian Shortt was found, bloodied and unconscious, in Donegal early Thursday morning.

Missing 25-Year-Old Man Found 'Safe And Well'
A 25-year-old man who was missing from Harcourt Street in Dublin has been found safe and well, Gardaí have reported. Simon Quinn was reported missing after last being seen at around 2.30am on Monday, 30 July. However, Mr Quinn has now been found and Gardaí said they wish to thank the media and public for their assistance.

Man Dies In Stabbing Incident
A 30-year-old has died and a second man has been injured in a stabbing incident in Tullamore, Co Offaly, shortly after 7am this morning. It is believed there had been an argument in a house in the area and a Polish man was killed. The other man's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Cocaine And Cannabis Seized In Co Kildare
Cocaine and cannabis herb worth an estimated €34,000 has been seized in Moone, Co Kildare. As part of a planned search of a premises at Lower Belan, garda uncovered €14,000 worth of cocaine and €20,000 worth of cannabis, shortly before midnight on Sunday, 12 June.

Three Separate Stabbing Incidents Over Weekend
One man has died and two have been seriously injured during a spate of stabbings over the weekend. A man in his 40s died in Tallaght Hospital following an incident at a bar in the Ballyfermot area of Dublin. He had been taken to the hospital with what appeared to be a stab wound to the body.
