Romanian Man Hospitalised After Assault

A Romanian man is in a serious condition in hospital following an assault in Dublin.

Gardai at Pearse Street are investigating the attack, which occurred at the junction of Hawkins Street and Poolbeg Street, Dublin, at approximately 2am on Sunday the 12th of October.

The injured party, who is still unidentified but is believed to a Romanian national, was attacked by two men who assaulted him and took property from his pockets before running off towards the O'Connell Street bridge area.

The injured party is in a serious condition in St James Hospital. Gardaí from Pearse Street wish to speak to anyone who may have information about this incident.

Officers are particularly looking to speak to anyone who may have been in the Hawkins St, Poolbeg St or Burgh Quay area at approximately 2.00am on Sunday morning, especially taxi drivers who potentially may have picked up two males in the O'Connell Bridge area.

Missing Man Found 'Safe And Well'
A 31-year-old Dublin man missing since 08 September has been found "safe and well", gardaí have reported. Stephen Sherlock was reported missing from the Pearse Street area of Dublin on Tuesday, 08 September. Garda were concerned for his welfare. Ten days after the appeal, garda said Mr Sherlock has been found.

Dept For Arts To 'Carefully Study' High Street Judgement On Moore Street
The Department for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht have said that they will "carefully study" the High Court judgement on Moore Street. Minister Heather Humphreys said: "This was a complex case and the judgement, which runs to more than 400 pages, needs to be studied in detail.

Three Held Over Fatal Limerick Shooting
Three people are being questioned in connection with the murder of a man in Limerick city early this week. Gary Grant, 25, was shot outside a house in St Ita's Street in the St Mary's Park area around 10:15pm on Monday night. He was taken to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital, but died on arrival.
