British Men Remanded Over €500M Cocaine Seizure
The three British men charged in connection with a €500 million cocaine seizure off the coast of West Cork have been remanded in continuing custody after Thursday's court appearance.
Philip Doo, 52, Christopher Wiggins, 42, and David Mufford, 44 were in Kinsale District Court this morning facing charges under the Drugs Trafficking Act.
The €500 million cocaine seizure, one of the biggest in Ireland's history, was performed by Navy, Gardai and Customs officials in a joint operation off the west Cork coast last week.
All three men are facing charges that on November 5th they were in possession of cocaine intended for import on the vessel Dances with Waves, a boat not registered in any country or territory.
Judge James McNulty granted the continuing remand in custody after an application from Inspector Brendan Fogarty.
Mr Doo from Brixham, Devon, Mr Mufford from Torquay, Devon and Mr Wiggins with an address at Estepona, Malaga, Spain are due to appear again at Schull District Court on November 27th.

Woman Arrested Over Dublin Airport Cocaine Seizure
Cocaine worth an estimated €250,000 has been seized at Dublin Airport. A 39-year-old woman, who arrived in Dublin from Dubai, was stopped and questioned by Revenue officers. She was found to be carrying the cocaine in three confectionery tins. The woman was arrested and detained by Gardaí. Investigations are ongoing with a view to prosecution.

Four Due In Court Over Largest Cocaine Seizure
Four men are due to appear in court today charged with the largest ever cocaine seizure in Ireland. The men, who all have addresses in the UK, are due to appear before Cloverhill District Court on Tuesday, charged with possession of cocaine and possession of the drug for sale or supply.

Two Men Arrested Following Planned Searches
Two men have been arrested after gardai in Limerick seized a handgun, cocaine, cash and ammunition. The discovery was made during planned searched of six houses, outhouses and sheds in the Lower Gerald Griffin Street area at around 8.30am today (15 August).

The union representing prison officers have spoke of their "embarrassment" over the arrest of a prison officer in connection with drug smuggling. The prison officer was arrested yesterday morning at 7.30am on suspicion of smuggling drugs into Mountjoy Prison in Dublin.

Two In Court Over Dublin Drug Seizure
Two men arrested in connection with the seizure of cannabis and cocaine by Garda, are due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice today, 16 February. The men, aged 25 and 52, were detained following the discovery, worth an estimated €2.1 million on Saturday, 13 February.
