Former World Boxing Champion's Trial Begins
A former world boxing champion has gone on trial at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court for allegedly assaulting a bouncer at the National Boxing Stadium last year.
Steve Collins, 42, of St Albans, Hertfordshire, England, has pleaded not guilty to assaulting an Albanian man, Adrialik Voda, causing him harm at the National Boxing Stadium, South Circular Road, Dublin, on June 3 in 2006.
Mr Collins, who is former super middleweight champion, appeared in court on Tuesday morning as a jury was sworn in to hear the case, which is expected to last three days.
Mr Collins was remanded on bail until this afternoon when the trial will commence before Judge Patrick McCarten.

Man Shot Dead At Bray Boxing Club
A man has died and two other men have been injured in a shooting incident at Bray Boxing Club just before 7am this morning, Tuesday 05 June. It is understood that an armed man entered the boxing club and fired a number of shots. One man, said to be aged in his 30s, was shot dead.
