Man killed In Lorry Crash On M4
A man has died and another has been injured after a crash between two lorries on the M4 on Thursday morning.
The crash happened on the westbound carriageway between Celbridge and Maynooth and diversions are in place.
According to AA Roadwatch, the westbound road is shut between the Celbridge interchange and the Maynooth junction as emergency services clear debris from the site.
AA Roadwatch has advised motorists to exit onto the Celbridge interchange, take a right at the Celbridge/Maynooth roundabout into Maynooth, go left at Barberstown/Maynooth Road, onto the Maynooth interchange and back onto the M4.
The section of the road is expected to remain closed for most of the day and motorists are being warned to expect delays.
Gardaí say the dead man, who was driving one of the lorries, was in his 40s.
His body has been removed to Connolly Memorial hospital in Blanchardstown.
The driver of the second lorry was also injured, but not seriously. Gardaí are investigating the incident.

Gardaí in Dublin have confirmed the death of woman who was hit by an articulated lorry at Heuston Station on Thursday evening. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body has been taken to the City Morgue. No details of the woman's identity have been released. An investigation into the circumstances of the woman's death is underway.

Man Dies In Donegal Road Crash
A man has died in a road crash in Donegal. The collision, between a car and a lorry, occurred at Tullytrap on the main Letterkenny to Lifford Road, on Thursday, 04 August. The driver of the car was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital, however he later died from his injuries. A passenger in the vehicle is currently being treated in hospital.

A 30-year-old man was hit by a car, which is believed to have been turning right at the junction of Straffan Road and Celbridge Road at the time.

The man was fatally injured when his 4x4 vehicle collided with a ditch at about 3.15pm on Monday. A female passenger in the vehicle remains in Naas General Hospital, but it is understood that she suffered minor injuries.
