Road Accident Tragedy Probed

Gardai in Riverstown Co. Sligo are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred at approximately 8.15 am this morning.

A 22-year-old male was pronounced dead at Sligo General Hospital after the car which he was driving was involved in a collision with a lorry at Clevery, Castlebaldwin, Co. Sligo.

A male passenger in the car received minor injuries and received treatment at Sligo General Hospital.

The driver of the lorry was not injured.

Pensioner Dies In Sligo Collision
A pensioner has died in a car crash in County Sligo. The collision, which involved a car and a van, occurred at Lufnadeffa, Ballysadare at around 12.20pm on Wednesday. The driver of the car, a female in her 80s and the van driver are being treated in hospital with serious injures. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

Two Arrested Over Murder Of Martin Kivlehan
Two men have been arrested in connection with the murder of Martin Kivlehan. 59-year-old Mr Kivlehan was found with stab wounds at his apartment in Sligo on 03 August. Both men were both arrested in Sligo town and are currently being detained at Sligo Garda Station under Section 30 Offences Against the State Act 1939.

Man Killed In Roscommon Road Collision
Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision at Ardkern, Roscommon. A man (20) was seriously injured when the car he was travelling in as a passenger left the road and struck a ditch. He was taken to Sligo University Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Woman Seriously Injured In Three-Car Accident
A woman has been seriously injured following a three-car collision on the N4 Dublin/Sligo Road. The crash occurred on the Edgeworth Road at approximately 5.30pm on Wednesday (7 January). The woman is currently being treated at Midland Regional Hospital. The main Dublin/Sligo Road has been closed and diversions are in place.
