Gardaí Hunt For 'Tiger Kidnappers' In Dublin
A man was forced to rob a Dublin post office today as so-called 'Tiger Kidnappers' held his wife and two teenage children hostage.
Gardaí have launched a hunt for the those involved and are asking for the public's assistance in apprehending the kidnappers
The incident occurred this morning, when the family were held hostage at a house in Sutton, Co Dublin.
The Kidnappers held the man's wife and two teenage children before the husband, an employee of An Post, was forced to go the Post Office in Edenmore, Dublin 5, where a sum of money was stolen.
A number of crime scenes are preserved and a full investigation is under way.
Gardai are asking anyone who was in either the Sutton/Pormarnock Road area or who was in the Edenmore area this morning to contact then at an incident room at Clontarf Garda Station on 01 666 4832.
Last week, in the North, a similar robbery was foiled when a filling station owner alerted the police to a kidnap situation while last month police swooped on suspected members of an organised crime gang as they were about to kidnap a Co Antrim businessman and his wife.
