M4 Multi-Vehicle Crash Warning

While motorists are today being warned of delays on the M4 at Leixlip East in Co Kildare after a crash, the police continue to probe a fatal accident yesterday.

This morning's accident has caused a multi-vehicle crash on the Dublin-bound lane of the main motorway.

It is causing tailbacks that are expected to build considerably and this morning, drivers are advised to avoid the area.

Meanwhile, Gardaí at Charleville are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the N20 at Main Street, Charleville at approximately 2.45pm yesterday afternoon.

A female pedestrian, believed to be in her 70s, was killed when she was hit by a lorry.

Police said that death was pronounced at the scene and that her body remained at the scene for some time afterwards while the road is closed at present and diversions are in place.

Witnesses should contact Gardaí at Charleville on 063 21770.

Man Dies In Single-Vehicle Crash
A man has been killed in a collision in Galway. The car crash happened at around 2.45am this morning on the Headford to Galway Road. The 31-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. Gardai are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Man Dies In Co Cork Road Crash
Gardaí have reported that a 47-year-old man has died in a single vehicle road crash near Charleville, Co Cork. The crash happened at around 21:30 last night in Boulard. It is believed that the vehicle struck a tree before hitting a ditch. The victim was pronounced dead the scene. No other vehicles were involved.

17-Year-Old Killed In Early Morning Car Crash
A teenager was killed, and four others hurt in a single vehicle crash this monring in Co Roscommon. A 17-year-old, a passenger in the car, was killed when the car hit a ditch on the Frenchpark to Boyle road around 1.20am on Monday morning. Four other teens who were in the car at the time received minor injuries.

Man Killed In Road Accident In Co Meath
A 31-year-old man has been killed in a road accident in Kilmore, Co Meath. The two car crash happened on the M4 westbound at approximately 1.25am. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was taken to Naas General Hospital. The driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries.

Pair Arrested By Gardaí Investigating Human Trafficking
Two women have been arrested in County Westmeath in connection with an investigation into human trafficking, money laundering and prostitution. Gardaí detained the pair, aged 42 and 49, after a search of two premises in the Mullingar area yesterday morning, Sunday 14 April. The investigation is ongoing.
