Thurles Police On Alert For Missing Man

Gardái at Thurles police station are seeking the public's help in tracing the whereabouts of a 56-year-old man.

John Skehan, who is missing from his home at Monakeeba, Thurles, Co Tipperary is being sought after his disappearance earlier this month.

John was reported missing on the 12th of December and his family are extremely concerned for his safety.

When last seen he was wearing dark trousers, a light coloured shirt, a dark v- neck jumper and a dark sleeveless jacket. He is described as 5'6'', medium build, with grey hair and green eyes.

The last positive sighting of John is at Kent railway station in Cork city at 9.00am on Saturday the 13th of December.

Garda Appeal For Witnesses To Fatal Moyne Road Accident
Garda have appealed for witnesses to a fatal road traffic accident at Moyneard, Moyne, Co Tipperary on Tuesday 12 January. A 39-year-old female pedestrian died after being struck by a van on the Moynead Cross to Shanballyduff Cross Road at about 16:10. It is understood the driver of the van, a 55-year-old man, was uninjured.

Seven Arrested In Connection With Armed Home Raid
Gardaí in Co Tipperary have arrested seven men in connection with armed raid on a family home. According to gardaí an armed gang broke into the Killenaule home of a businessman and his family at around 03:00 on Thursday morning. The man was in the house at the time along with his wife and three children, all understood to be aged under eight.

Two Die In Road Crashes In Tipperary And Sligo
A 22-year-old man has died in a road accident in Co Sligo. It is understood that the man died when he was thrown from his tractor and struck by a trailer it was towing at around 6.20pm on Monday. The accident happened at Clogher, Monasteraden. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
