Burglars Escape With Firearms
Over 30 firearms were stolen during what has been described as an aggravated burglary in Co Tipperary last night.
Gardaí at Carrick on Suir are investigating the incident, which occurred in the early hours of this morning at a licensed firearms dealership in Cregg, Carrick on Suir, Co. Tipperary.
According to Gardaí, at approximately 1.30am four men were waiting outside the premises when the couple that owned the property returned home from a night out. At least one of the men lying in wait was armed with a gun.
The owners were taken into the house, which had two other occupants.
A Gardaí spokesman said: "An assortment of approximately 30 firearms was taken during the course of this burglary, including pistols and rifles."
The family car, a beige/champagne coloured Honda Civic Saloon registration 03WX5048, was also taken. No shots were fired and no injuries have been announced.
Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses, or anyone with information to offer in relation to the incident to contact Gardaí at Carrick on Suir or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
Officers are particularly interested in locating the whereabouts of the car taken or any sightings of it.

Gardaí Seize Firearms And Drugs From Dublin Apartment
A man and a woman, both in their 20s, have been arrested following the seizure of firearms and drugs during a search of a Dublin apartment. The Gardaí found cocaine with a street value of €100,000, ecstasy tablets worth €11,5 and cannabis worth €6,000 in the Clondalkin flat. Two shotguns and a ammunition were also seized during the evening raid.

Man Claims He Found Rifle 'In A Field'
A 23-year-old man has been jailed for two years after pleading guilty to possession of a firearm, which he claimed he found in a field. It is understood the man claimed he found the firearm, believed to be a rifle, "when he cycled over it in a field", before he took it home and put it inside a wall of his home.

Gardaí have appealed for information about an attempted armed robbery of a bank in Dunboyne, Co Meath on Tuesday morning. It is understood that two masked men, believed to have been carrying firearms, entered a Bank of Ireland branch through its roof shortly after 9am. They threatened staff and demanded a safe inside the bank to be opened.
