Man Injured In Bar Shooting

A man has been injured in a shooting incident in a Dublin pub.

Gardai at Finglas are investigating the shooting incident that occurred at a public house on Barry Road, Finglas shortly after midnight on Saturday night.

A 24-year-old male received injuries when two males wearing balaclavas entered the premises and discharged a firearm.

The injured male was taken to hospital with injuries that are describes as not life threatening. No one else was injured during the shooting, before the two males made their escape in the direction of Barry Green.

The scene has been preserved by Gardaí for technical examination.

Gardaí later said that following the incident officers from Finglas conducted follow up searches on two houses in the area and a firearm was recovered.

Gardai wish to appeal to anyone that was present at the public house or who may have information that would assist the Gardai to contact Finglas Garda Station.

Fatal Shooting In Finglas
An appeal for witnesses has been launched after a fatal shooting in the Finglas area of Dublin. Gardai in Finglas said they are investigating the fatal shooting that occurred inside a public house on Barry Road, Finglas at approximately 1am on Wednesday. During the incident, a lone gunman entered the public house and shot a male in his 30’s.

Three Killed On Roads Over Weekend
A total of three deaths have occurred on Irish roads over the weekend. In the first incident, a female driver in her 50s was fatally injured when her car collided with another vehicle and a third vehicle was also involved. Two other people were injured, their injuries are not described as life threatening.

Man Face 18 Charges Of Indecent Assault
A 65-year-old man has appeared in court charged 18 counts of indecently assaulting two boys in a Westmeath primary school 18 years ago. Brother Thomas McCarry, with an address at Clareville, Finglas Road, Glasnevin faces charges relating to two separate boys at the CBS primary school in Mullingar 1984 and 1985.

Man Critical After Being Pulled From Canal In Dublin
A man is in a critical condition in hospital after being pulled out of a canal in Dublin. The 23-year-old male fell into the canal at Portobello Harbour after Sunday's All-Ireland hurling final. He was pulled out of the water and taken to St James' Hospital where his condition has been described as critical.

Appeal Following Service Station Robbery In Cork
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a robbery at a service station in Brooklodge, Glanmire, Co Cork. A lone male drove into the service station in a wine coloured Fiat Punto at approximately 19:30 on Monday 18 April. He entered the premises, in possession of a firearm and demanded cash from a staff member.
