Driver Dies In Fatal Kildare Collision
Gardai at Kildare are investigating a two vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the Monasterevin to Kildare Road, shortly before 8.00pm yesterday evening.
A 22-year-old male was fatally injured when the car he was driving was in collision with a second vehicle on the R445. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The female driver of the second vehicle was seriously injured and taken to the Midland Regional Hospital at Portlaoise. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
The road is currently closed and Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are examining the scene.
Met Éireann says there is a risk of bad weather in other parts of the country as snow, hail and sleet move eastwards overnight and has warned driver to take cares on the roads.
The agency also warned that west to northwest winds will reach gale force at times today on Irish Coastal Waters from Mizen Head to Erris Head to Fair Head, while Southwest to south winds will reach gale force tomorrow morning on Irish Coastal Waters from Mizen Head to Slyne Head to Malin Head.

A man has died in a road collision in County Kerry. The man, 51, was killed after his 4x4 vehicle collided with a signpost in Listowel at approximately 8.40pm on Monday night. He was taken to Kerry General Hospital but was later pronounced dead. The road has been closed and diversions have been put in place.

Man Receives Serious Injuries In Co Galway Crash
A man has received head injuries in a serious single vehicle crash in Portumna, Co Galway. The collision happened at around 6.30am when a van collided with a bridge. Three men in the van were uninjured, however one man was taken to Portiuncla Hospital, where his injuries are described as serious. The road has been closed for forensic examination.

Teenager Killed In Co Tipperary Road Crash
Gardaí in Co Tipperary have reported the death of a 19-year-old man in a road accident. According to gardaí the man, whose name has not been released, was killed in a single vehicle collision on the Fethard/Killenaule road after 8am. There was nobody else in the car at the time. An investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
