Man Missing In Cavan

Concern is growing over the whereabouts of a man who has been missing from his home since Tuesday.

Gardai at Belturbet, Co Cavan are growing increasingly anxious to trace the whereabouts of 56-year-old Gerry Higgins who has been missing from home since Tuesday 20th January.

Officers are extremely concerned for the welfare of Gerry as he is in need of medical attention. He is described as being 5’ 7” of thin build, with short grey hair.

When last seen he was wearing a brown leather jacket, coloured scarf, cream coloured trousers and black shoes. Gerry also wears glasses.

Appeal Issued For 59-Year-Old Man Missing In Donegal
Gardaí have issued an appeal for help in tracing Anthony Griffiths, who has been missing since Tuesday, 30 August. Mr Griffiths, 59, is from L'Derry and was visiting Donegal on Tuesday when he went missing. He was last seen close to Doagh Famine Village, Doagh Clonmany shortly after midnight on Tuesday.

Two Missing People Found 'Safe And Well'
Missing 17-year-old Yasmin O'Keeffe has been found "safe and well", garda have reported. Garda had issued an appeal for the teenager who had been missing since Tuesday, 07 June in Navan. No further information has been released but garda have thanked the public for their help.

Call For Assistance To Families On Missing
Ireland's law reform body has called for the plan to see the families of missing people to receive financial help with paying their bills. The Law Reform Commission (LRC) on Monday published its Consultation Paper on Civil Law Aspects of Missing Persons making 18 detailed provisional recommendations for reform of the law.

Marriage Equality Referendum Set For Spring 2015
The Marriage Equality referendum will take place in spring next year, the Taoiseach Enda Kenny has told the Dáil. Mr Kenny made the announcement in response to the issue being raised by Sinn Séin leader Gerry Adams, who had called on the government to set a date. The Taoiseach told the Dáil that the referendum would happen in spring 2015.

Dublin Bus To Hire 70 New Drivers
Seventy new drivers are to be hired by Dublin Bus over the next three months, the company has announced. The new driver intake marks the first new hirings by the company since 2008 and follows an increase in passenger numbers in 2013.
