Gardaí Rescue Mother From Burning Home
There was a dramatic blaze rescue near Dublin at the weekend.
A woman and her young family were saved after their house caught fire.
According to a gardaí spokesman, at about 4.15am on Sunday, police received a report of a house fire at Hilltown Close, Rivervalley, Swords in Dublin.
On arrival at the scene they found a female trapped in a first floor back bedroom.
A gardaí tried to enter the house by the front door but was beaten back by smoke and flames.
Officers then used a ladder from a neigbouring house to rescue the woman.
Three children aged 10, four and one year had earlier been rescued from the house by the boyfriend of the woman.
The man had arrived following a telephone call from the woman.
The woman, who is her late twenties, and the three children were taken to Temple Street Children's Hospital where they are being treated for smoke inhalation.
The house was extensively damaged in the incident and an investigation is under way into the cause of the fire.
Initial indications are that the cause of the fire was accidental

Three Die In Separate House Fires
Two men and a woman have died in three separate house fires in Limerick and Kerry. In the latest incident, a man in his 60s died following a house fire in Tralee in Co Kerry. The fire broke out in the terraced house in Connolly Park at about 9.30pm yesterday. Gardaí were called to the scene at around 9.

Woman Dies In House Fire In Co Clare
A woman has died in a house fire in Co Clare. The victim, in her 50s, was alone at the property in Derrynavaha, Craggah, when the fire started at around 7pm on Sunday night. Gardai are currently investigating the incident.

Woman Charged Over Suspicious House Fire
A woman has been charged in relation to a suspicious house fire in Co Louth last year. Following an investigation into the blaze, which occurred at Cork Street in Drogheda on 16 August last year, gardaí confirmed a 27-year-old woman has been charged in connection with the incident. A woman, aged 73, was seriously injured in the fire in 2014.
