Ann Corcoran Laid To Rest In West Cork
A Co Cork widow, whose body was discovered on Friday, has been laid to rest following a service in Kilbrittain this morning.
Hundreds attended the funeral mass of Ann Corcoran near her Co Cork home.
St Patrick's Church was packed with friends, family and well wishers for the 60-year-old, whose body was found in a shallow grave near Garrettstown last Friday following a major search in the area.
Preliminary results of a post mortem examination indicated that Mrs Corcoran died of head injuries and it is understood an attempt had been made to burn her body before she was buried in a nearby quarry.
Forty-nine-year-old Oliver Hayes, from Clancool Terrace in Bandon, has been charged with false imprisonment in connection with her disappearance in mid-January.
He is due to be brought before the district court in Kinsale tomorrow.
