Man Shot Dead In Latest Dublin Attack

A man in his 30s has died following what is thought gang-related shooting in Dublin last night.

Two men pulled on a motorcycle outside a public house and the pillion passenger went inside and singled out a 33-year-old man.

He then shot him a number of times at short range with a handgun.

The incident took place at the Grumpy Jack's pub in the Coombe area at about 9.45pm last night.

The injured man was taken to St James's Hospital where he died a short time later.

Both suspects were wearing helmets and made their getaway on the motorcycle in the direction of Dean Street.

Reports this morning suggest the victim was known to gardaí and was under investigation by a number of local and specialist units, including the Garda National Drugs Unit.

Gardaí have interviewed witnesses in the pub and are appealing for anyone who was in the area between 9pm and 10pm last night to contact them on 6669400.
