12 Arrested Over Geoghegan Murder
A total of 12 people have been arrested in connection with the Shane Geoghegan murder in Limerick last November.
The six men and six women were arrested this morning as part of a major operation by gardaí in counties Clare, Tipperary and Limerick. The shooting of rugby team captain Shane Geoghegan caused national outrage last year, and led to a stepping-up of gardaí action against Ireland's gangs.
Five are being held in a number of stations across the three counties, and one man is being questioned in Dublin.
A quantity of drugs, believed to be heroin, as well as drugs paraphernalia were found during a search in Co Tipperary.
All of those arrested can be held initially for 24 hours.

Men Arrested Over Santry Cannabis Seizure
Cannabis worth an estimated €150,000 has been seized from a home in Larchill, Santry in Dublin, on Saturday. Gardaí arrested four men in connection with the find. They are due to appear in court on Monday.

Men Arrested Over €1m Cocaine And Heroin Find
Heroin and cocaine, with an estimated street value of €1m, has been recovered in a house search in Ballyfermot on Tuesday. Gardaí arrested two men, aged in their 30s, at the scene after officers uncovered 13kgs of cocaine worth an estimated €900,000 and 1.5kgs of heroin, with an estimated value of €225,000.

Man Arrested Over €400,000 Cannabis Find
Cannabis with an estimated value of €400,000 has been seized in Co Donegal. Members of the Revenue and Gardaí uncovered the drugs during a search at Castlefin on Tuesday. Garda arrested a man in his 30s in connection with the find.
