Two On The Run Over Geoghegan Investigation
Two men have gone on the run from Gardaí following yesterday's 14 arrests by officers over the Shane Geoghegan murder.
The two men are believed to have fled to London as Gardaí made a large number of synchronized arrests yesterday. One of the men is thought to be a prime suspect in the case of the murdered amateur rugby player.
According to a Gardaí spokesman: "A total of 14 people have been arrested, ranging in ages from late teens to early 40's. There are seven males and seven females, and are all currently detained.
"There were six males and six females arrested on the South Side of Limerick City, and they are currently detained at Garda Stations in the Limerick City and county area and at Ennis, Co. Clare. One Female was arrested in Dublin and is currently detained at Ballymun Garda Station and a second female was arrested in the Bansha Area of Tipperary and she is detained at Cahir Garda Station."
Many of the arrests have been made for withholding of information, as Gardaí continue to dig for Mr Geoghegan's killers.
