Two Pedestrians Killed In Collisions On Tuesday
Two men have been killed in separate traffic collisions on Tuesday.
Gardaí at Bundoran are investigating the first collision that occurred on Main Street Bundoran at approximately 12.10am in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
In the incident an 18-year-old pedestrian was killed when he was struck by an articulated lorry.
The deceased was taken to Sligo General Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Main Street was closed off to facilitate a fatal collision examination.
Anyone who may have witnessed this incident are asked to contact Gardaí at Bundoran on 071 9841203.
In a second incident, Gardaí at Ballina are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the N59 at Quignalecka, Ballina, Co. Mayo shortly before 10.30pm last night.
A 38-year-old pedestrian was killed when a car struck him.
The deceased was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Mayo General Hospital.
The road was closed pending a fatal collision examination.
Motorists are asked to avoid this route where possible as diversions are in place and Gardaí are at the scene.
Anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have information to offer are asked to contact Gardaí at Ballina on 096 20560.

Road Tragedies Blight Ireland
There has been a litany of fatal road accidents across Ireland with a man aged in his 60s being killed following a crash in Co Tyrone. The PSNI Police were called to the scene of the incident on the Gorticashel Road, Mountfield, outside Omagh, shortly after 4.30pm yesterday. They were responding to a report that a tractor had left the road.

Killed Motorcyclist Named
Gardaí have named the 38-year-old motorcyclist killed in a tragic collision in Co. Carlow. The man is James Fleming of Hillside, Borris, Co. Carlow. Gardaí at Portlaoise are continuing to investigate the two-vehicle fatal collision that occurred on the Stradbally to Carlow Rd (N80) on the Sunday morning at approximately 9.45am.

John Gallagher, 55, and his 24-year-old son Sean died when their car collided with another vehicle at Burt on Saturday morning. The collision occurred at the junction of Slab Road, Burt, on the Main Letterkenny to Derry Road at approximately 10.

Gardaí in Blanchardstown have renewed their appeal for witnesses to a fatal road traffic accident in Hartstown, Dublin on Sunday, 03 January. At approximately 2.40am two female pedestrians – aged in their 40s – were seriously injured when they were struck by a car on Hartstown Road.
