Fog Causes Flight Delays At Dublin Airport
This morning's heavy fog has led to flight delays at Dublin airport.
Low-visibility procedures were put in place today following the poor conditions, with the airport still reporting only one mile visibility and heavy mist.
The first rotation of flights was hit with delays affecting later flights, which were up to an hour off schedule.
The fog has been clearing throughout the morning and flights are expected should return to normal times later today.
The fog has also led to some trouble for drivers. A spokesman for AA roadwatch said the fog was slowly starting to lift in Leinster but motorists need to continue to drive with care in Dublin city, Wicklow and Wexford towns, around New Ross and in parts of Co. Louth.
"Slow down use fog lights in affected areas but don't forget to turn them off afterwards. Use dipped headlights and be particularly mindful of pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists."
According to AA Roadwatch, there are no major flight delays or cancellations at Shannon or Cork airports, although one flight from Stansted to Knock was diverted to Shannon due to fog at Knock.
