Unions To Meet Over Dublin Bus Cost-Cutting Plans
Unions representing Dublin Bus workers are seeking further discussions on the company's cost cutting plans to avert strike action at the weekend.
SIPTU is due to meet today to discuss the on-going dispute while the NBRU is to hold a similar meeting tomorrow.
The move comes after drivers at Dublin Bus narrowly rejected recommendations made by the Labour Court in relation to the company's cost cutting plans.
Despite offers of extra overtime payments, and voluntary redundancy, workers were not prepared to see 120 buses removed from services in Dublin.
Dublin Bus indicated it intends to proceed with its plans to take 120 buses from its fleet on Sunday, and the move could prompt industrial action by drivers.
