Pair Face Charges Over Weekend Shooting

Two people were in court today in Dublin facing charges related to a shooting incident at the weekend.

The two males were initially detained in relation to the discharge of a firearm in Drimnagh on Saturday last and have now appeared in Court 46, The Bridewell, charged in connection with this incident.

Originally, Gardaí from Crumlin Garda Station received a report of a discharge of a firearm at a house on Keeper Road, Dublin 12 at approximately 11.30pm on April 18.

They discovered that a single shot was fired through the front window of the house.

At the time, there was one person in the house, but she escaped injury.

When the officers arrived at the scene - and as a result of follow up enquiries - they stopped and searched a car and arrested two males on St. Peters Road.

Both males (aged in their early 30s and mid 20s respectively) were arrested under Section 30 of The Offences Against The State Act, 1939 and were initially detained at Crumlin and Sundrive Road Garda Stations.

A fully loaded pistol was also recovered at the car park on St. Peters Road.
