IBOA Seeks Urgent Meeting With Minister For Finance

The Irish Banks Officials' Association (IBOA) is seeking immediate talks with Minister for Finance Brian Lenihan over the future of Irish Nationwide Building Society.

The Building Society reported a pre-tax loss of €243m last year and the IBOA says staff are extremely concerned about their jobs after the

IBOA General Secretary Larry Broderick said the workers were concerned about the possible impacts on customers and on their own job security and terms and conditions.

Couple's Home To Be Repossessed Over Unpaid Loan In 1991
A bank has been given the go ahead to begin proceedings to repossess a couple's home for failing to repay a loan they took out in the 1990s. It was ruled yesterday that the Irish Bank Resolution Corporation (IBRC) was entitled to an order for possession of Patrick and Patricia Raftery's house at Cloonbrackna Court, Roscommon.

Mortgage Rise 'Unacceptable'
