Senior Gardaí Faces Prison Over Leak
A senior Irish police officer is facing a prison term of up to five years after admitting to leaking a confidential report into the Dean Lyons affair.
Detective Sergeant Robert McNulty, faces a custodial sentence of up to five years and/or a fine of up to €300,000.
He is the first person to be convicted under tough laws introduced in 2004 to limit the amount of so-called leaks from such State inquiries.
Det Sgt McNulty, 50, of The Close, Boden Park, Rathfarnham served at Dublin's Bridewell and Store Street garda stations.
He pleaded guilty yesterday at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to the charge of disclosing the contents of a draft report into the Dean Lyons case, without the consent of the commission.
Judge Patricia Ryan remanded him on continuing bail to a date next month for sentence.
An article by the Evening Herald in August 2006 revealed the findings of a draft report, the final version of which wasn't due for publication until a month later.

Bodies Found At Dublin Home After Suspected Gas Leak
The bodies of a man and a woman have been discovered in a house in Dublin today. The remains, aged in their 60s, were found at Drumalee Court at approximately 1pm this afternoon. It is believed there may have been a gas leak. The bodies remain at the scene and a State pathologist has been notified.

Woman Faces Charge Of Assisting In Suicide
In what is thought to be the first prosecution of its kind in Ireland a Dublin woman is to face a charge of assisting the suicide of another woman. It is alleged that between 10 March and 06 June 2010, Gail O'Rorke, aided, abetted, counselled or procured the suicide of 51-year-old Bernadette Forde in Dublin.

Gas Leak At Dublin Port
A number of premises around a refrigeration company at Dublin Port had to be evacuated this morning following a chlorine gas leak. Several units of the Dublin Fire Brigade, including the Chemical Response Unit, were called to the scene at 8.30am. The leak has since been isolated.
