Three Safety Closures Of Food Outlets In April
Officials from the food standards authority have closed three food outlets in the last month.
The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) revealed on Wednesday it had served three closure orders and two prohibition orders on food businesses in April for breaches of food safety legislation.
Environmental health officers in the HSE North East region, the HSE West region and the HSE Dublin Mid Leinster region issued the orders.
The closure orders were served on Twenty Four K Limited in 141a Parnell Street, Dublin, the butchery area of Station Road Deli Ballina Co Mayo and Da Dong Bei BBQ Restaurant also in Parnell Street Dublin.
Meanwhile prohibition orders were served on Sheehan's pub in Chatham Street, Dublin and Keoghs Traditional Bar on the Main Street in Longford.

Rise In Food Safety Enforcement Orders
The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has reported a total of 143 Enforcement Orders served for breaches in food safety legislation in 2013 compared with 109 in 2012, an increase of 31% - making last year the highest to date for the number of Enforcement Orders issued.

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has reported that ten Closure Orders and four Prohibition Orders were served on food businesses during the month of February for breaches of food safety legislation, pursuant to the FSAI Act, 1998 and the EC (Official Control of Foodstuffs) Regulations, 2010.
