Fianna Fail Will Get A "Kicking" Says Labour
The Labour Candidate for Dublin Central has claimed Fianna Fail will get "a kicking" in next months local elections.
Launching her campaign today, Senator Ivana Bacik, who is the Dáil Candidate for Dublin Central said Fianna Fáil did not deserve and would not get the support of the people of Dublin Central on June 5th.
Senator Baik said: "At the weekend (Fianna Fail) Cllr Maurice Ahern made the bizarre claim that voters would be grateful for Fianna Fáil's achievements. You really have to wonder what planet Fianna Fáil is living on if its candidate believes that."
The senator added that Fianna Fail's "incompetence, stupidity and arrogance" is motivating voters to vote for her party.
Meanwhile, Fine Gael's prospective councillor Senator Paschal Donohoe has opened his campaign asking if the Fianna Fail candidate Maurice Ahern believes he can win the Dublin Central Bye-Election, why then is he running for the City Council as well.
Senator Donohoe said: "Under the rules, which outlaw the so-called ‘dual mandate’, nobody is allowed to be a sitting TD and a sitting Councillor. Anybody who wins election to the Dáil must immediately resign their Council seat.
"This makes the dual candidacy of Maurice Ahern very strange indeed. Should Maurice win the Bye-Election, he would have to resign the Council seat which, presumably, he would also win."
