Raiders Make Off With Cash

Armed raiders have escaped with an undisclosed sum of money in a robbery in Co Carlow.

A total of four armed and masked raiders made their getaway after the aggravated burglary at the Lord Bagnel Inn, Leighlinbridge, Co Carlow.

Gardai in Carlow are appealing to trace the whereabouts of the grey Ford Focus, registration number 08 CW 2478, which was taken during the incident at about 5.30am.

Gardaí say the car was used by the raiders to make their escape with the sum of money and a security safe, both of which were taken from the premises.

During the course of the raid two male employees and a resident from the hotel were locked in a storeroom. No-one injured in the incident.

A garda officer was shot and killed by raiders waiting to rob the Lordship Credit Union in Bellurgan, Jenkinstown, near Dundalk. He has been named as Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe who was attached to the Detective Unit in Dundalk.

Armed Raiders Escape With €100,000
Gardaí­ are searching for armed raiders who escaped with up to €100,000 and fired a shot after a robbery on a security van in Dublin. The raid took place at the Bayside Shopping Centre in north Dublin at around 2pm on Thursday. Two men approached a cash transit van and produced what appeared to be a sawn off shotgun.

Man In Court Over Pub Robbery
A 21-year-old man appeared in court this morning charged in connection with an armed robbery at a public house on Marsh Street in Drogheda. The incident occurred at approximately 20:15 on 16 November when two males armed with a knife and a shotgun entered the premises and held up staff.

'Lower Than Normal' Temperatures Could See Snowfall Today - Met Éireann
Parts of Munster and Leinster could see snowfall today, Met Éireann has warned. The forecaster has said that rain is expected to turn to sleet and snow as temperatures fall to "lower than normal". A status yellow warning for rainfall has also been issued for counties Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Wicklow, Offaly and Tipperary.

Yellow Weather Warning Issued For Heavy Rain
A yellow weather warning for rain has been put in place across many counties in Ireland. The warning came into effect at 11pm on Sunday night, 13 October, and is in place until 11.59pm on Monday, 14 October. The warning is for Munster, Connacht, Carlow, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Wexford, Offaly and Westmeath.
