Man In Hospital After Serious Assault In Dublin
A man has received serious head injuries during an assault in Dublin at the weekend.
Launching an appeal for witnesses today, Gardaí at Pearse Street have asked for the public's assistance in relation to the assault, which occurred outside the Citibar, Dame Street, between the junctions with Temple lane and Crow Street at approximately 3am on Sunday.
The injured party is a 29-year-old man who received serious head injuries and was taken to St James hospital. He has since discharged from hospital.
A Gardaí spokesman said they would especially like to taxi drivers, who were in the area of Dublin at the time, and who may have witnessed this assault. All witnesses are asked to contact

Meanwhile, a man is in a serious condition after a stabbing incident in County Sligo. The man in his 20s is in a serious condition in hospital following the attack at a house in the Old Bundoran Road area on Thursday morning. The attack happened at the house on the at around 4am and the injured man was taken to Sligo General Hospital.
The scene of the stabbing has been sealed off for technical examination.

Gardai have launched an investigation following a suspicious fire at a house in Rhode, Co. Offaly on Monday. The incident occurred between 11.30pm on Sunday and 1.50am on Monday. A 24-year-old man sustained serious injuries and has been transferred to St James Hospital where his condition is described as critical.

Man Dies In Limerick Collision
A man has died in a crash in Co Limerick. The car veered off the road and hit a ditch at Dromsallagh at around 4.15am on Sunday, 05 June. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. A second man is currently being treated for his injuries at the University Hospital Limerick. The road has been re-opened.

A 48-year-old man has died as a result of serious injuries he received in his own home after a serious assault. Gardaí have launched a murder investigation into the attack during which, Limerick man Joe O'Donnell, 48, of Hyde Road, suffered serious head wounds in the early hours of Friday morning.
