Man For Court Over Wicklow Killing
A 23-year-old man will appear before Arklow District Court this morning in relation to the shooting dead last month of French national Charles Sinanapayen in Bray, Co Wicklow.
Mr Sinanapayen, 32, was shot in the head on May 29th last at the apartment he shared with his partner in Richmond Hill, Fassaroe.
Mr Sinanapayen was killed when he went to the window of his apartment to investigate a disturbance. It is believed somebody on an external stairwell shot him.
Two men were spotted fleeing the scene and getting into a car.
Mr Sinanapayen was severely injured in the incident and pronounced dead at 2am on Monday morning at Beaumont Hospital.
Mr Sinannapayen's girlfriend, who was in the apartment with him at the time, was severely traumatised but otherwise unhurt.
Gardaí say the victim was not known to them and had no criminal convictions in Ireland.
Mr Sinanapayen died from his injuries at Beaumont Hospital at 2am on Monday June 1st. Tragically, his father died of a long-term illness in Bordeaux just hours before Mr Sinanapayen passed away.
Gardaí recovered two shotguns they believe were used in the shooting.
