Second Body Discovered In Dublin
The body of another man has been found in Dublin buried in a shallow grave.
Gardaí said the discovery was made shortly before noon on Friday in a field in Ballough, Balbriggan. The body of a man in his 30s remains at the scene and the area has been sealed off pending a forsenic examination.
Gardaí said they had notified the County Corner's Office and the State Pathologist's Office.
It is thought the body may be that of a 34-year-old man from Finglas who has been missing for a number of days. The missing man's car was found last night in the Balbriggan area. He was reported missing by a family member.
It is thought the man may have sustained gunshot wounds and may have died elsewhere before being taken to Balbriggan.
The grisly find is the second of its kind today. Gardaí are also investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a young man's body in the early hours of Friday morning.
A passing taxi driver spotted the body of the man who is believed to be in his 20s at 5.15am and raised the alarm.
The body, which is believed to have stab wounds, remains at the scene at the junction of the corner of Cardiffsbridge Road and Tolka Valley Road. Gardaí are treating the death as suspicious and the Office of the State Pathologist has been notified.
The scene is in the vicinity of the back road from Finglas to Blanchardstown, by an area of open ground, near Tolka Valley Park and is protected by uniformed gardaí pending forensic examination.
The area of Cardiffsbridge Road and Tolka Valley Road has been closed off.
