Two Dead In Separate Tragic Traffic Collisions
Two people, including an 11-year-old boy have been killed in separate traffic collisions in the last 24 hours.
In the first incident a young male cyclist, aged 11 years, was fatally injured when he was struck by a jeep.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and was taken to the Mid Western Regional Hospital in Limerick where a post mortem will take place later today.
Gardai in Bruff, County Limerick are investigating the circumstances of the fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the R512 the Ardpatrick Rd out of Kilmallock, Co. Limerick, at approximately 6.15pm.
The scene was technically examined and the road has since reopened.
In a second separate incident Gardaí at Granard are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred at approximately 2.30pm today at Clogh Bridge, Mullinachta, Co. Longford. This collision involved a construction vehicle and a car.
The driver of the construction vehicle was killed and his body remains at scene. He is believed to be approximately 42 years of age and he will shortly be removed to Mullingar General Hospital.
There were three adults and a child in the car. They did not receive any injuries.
The road remains closed to facilitate a Garda Forensic Collision Investigation.
Gardaí investigating today's fatal traffic collision in Longford are appealing for witnesses.
Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or been in the area immediately beforehand is asked to contact Gardaí.

Fatal Accident In Athlone
An 18-year-old man - who was the sole occupant of a car that went out of control and collided with a ditch on Saturday - was killed in the accident. Gardaí at Athlone are investigating the single vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred at approximately 10am, off the N61 at Curraghboy Road, Athlone, Co. Roscommon.

Woman Killed In Road Traffic Collision
A woman has died in a road traffic collision in Co Galway. The incident happened on the Oranmore to Craughwell road yesterday 6 July at around 4:20pm. The victim, who was in her fifties, was fatally injured when the car she was driving collided with another vehicle, approximately 3 kilometres from Craughwell. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
