Body Found In Mayo
An arrest has been made after the body of a woman was found in Mayo.
Gardai at Castlebar, Co Mayo are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body of a 61-year-old woman in a house at Blackfort, Newport Road Castlebar at approximately 4am in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
A 29-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident. He was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act and has since been released from custody and subsequently admitted to hospital.
The scene has been sealed off pending a Garda Technical Examination. The state pathologists office has been notified.
Gardaí are treating her death as suspicious and say they are following a definite line of inquiry.
The house and the area around it have been sealed off pending a technical examination.
More details are expected to emerge shortly.

Gardaí in Waterford City have said the body of a woman has been found at a house in St John's Park. The Fire Brigade found the body, understood to be a woman aged in her 60s, at about 18:00 on Tuesday at a house in Killure Grove.

Investigation Launched Into Fatal Quarry Accident
Gardaí have launched an investigation into a fatal workplace accident in Co Mayo. It is understood a man in his 20s was fatally injured in an accident at about 10am this morning at a quarry in Kilkelly. The quarry has been sealed pending a forensic examination. The Health and Safety Authority has been informed.
