Irishman's Burnt Body Identified In Malaga
The burned body found near Malaga in April has been identified as that of a missing Irishman.
The 57-year-old Irishman, who had been reported missing by his girlfriend and daughter almost two months ago, was last seen in the principality of Mijas on 11 April.
Local authorities revealed today they had identified the burnt remains, which were found in a wastewater pipe.
Investigators managed to identify the victim by tracing the serial number found on an artificial leg that was found at the scene. The Irish authorities have now been asked to provide DNA samples.
According to local journalists, his body was found by a passerby in a wastewater pipe. It was reported that it had been set alight.
A local resident made the discovery after spotting smoke coming from a waste pipe in La Rosa.
A missing person report filed by the man's daughter confirmed that he had a knee operation a decade ago after a skiing accident.
His name is not being released.

A 16-year-old girl who went missing from her home in Tramore, Co Waterford, has been found safe and well, Gardaí have said. Margueritta 'Maggie' Goulden was reported missing on 8 January. It is understood the teenager was found in the Dublin area. Gardaí have thanked the public for their assistance in the case.

An Irishman who went missing in London has been found. Police launched an appeal for help to trace Neil Coady, who is originally from Co Kilkenny, after he was last seen in a pub in Harrow on Wednesday, 27 January. Police have confirmed that he has been found safe and well and thanked the public for their assistance.

A Co Clare man missing in Australia since last Saturday has been found, Australian Police have reported. 33-year-old Donal O'Sullivan had been last seen leaving the Tea Gardens Hotel in Bondi Junction at about 10:30am on Saturday morning.

Body Of Irishman Found In Brisbane River
A body, believed to be that of an Irishman who went missing in Australia at the weekend, has been recovered in the Brisbane river. 24-year-old Shane O'Halloran went missing on Saturday night after falling overboard a cruise ship. Police located the body not far from where he originally went missing.
