Another Deadly Road Collision Reported
There has been yet another fatal road accident.
The gardaí in Co Cork are this afternoon investigating the circumstances of a deadly road traffic collision which occurred on the Main St, Macroom just after noon today.
The police have reported that a female pedestrian involved in the incident was killed and was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is believed that the woman who died was struck by a lorry.
The road - which is the N22 - was closed off immediately pending a technical examination.
This afternoon diversions are still in place and motorists are being advised to avoid the area or expect delays.

Deadly Cavan Road Crash Probed
Two men have been killed following a road traffic collision near Virginia, Co Cavan. The accident involving a car and a van occurred on the N3 near Lisduff, Virginia at 10.30pm on Wednesday. The dead men were travelling in the van with the driver being in his late 20s and the passenger in his late 30s.

Deadly Road Toll Rises As Dangerous Driving Conditions Continue
Although a motorist was killed last night in Donegal, so far, there are no reports of injury in a series of crashes in the county this morning due to ice on the roads. Parts of Co Donegal have come to a virtual standstill as severe frost and ice has left roads in many parts of the county in extremely dangerous condition.

Deadly Road Toll Rises
Road crashes have again claimed lives with news that two people died in separate road accidents in Co Kildare and Co Tipperary. A 51-year-old man died in hospital in the early hours of this morning after he was knocked down and fatally injured by a car in Carbury, Co Kildare, at around 8.30pm last night.

One person was killed and seven people injured in two separate road crashes on Sunday. One incident happened near Tulla village in Co Clare around 3am on Sunday. A 29-year-old man was killed when the car he was driving hit a ditch and overturned.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a fatal road accident in Collon, Co Louth. The single vehicle road accident happened at about 1am on Tuesday morning close to Brannigan's Cross on the Collon to Tinure Road. A 32-year-old man, the sole occupant of the car, suffered serious injuries when his car left the road and struck a ditch.
