Woman's Body Found In Dublin

The body of an elderly woman has been found in Dublin.

The woman, aged 79, was found by a relative in the house at Ladycove, Rush, Co Dublin shortly after 7pm.

Gardaí are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery and the body remains at the scene and will be examined shortly by the State Pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy.

Meanwhile, Gardaí have also revealed today that the 27-year-old man arrested yesterday in connection with the murder of Kieran Cunningham in June is to appear in court this morning.

The man was arrested yesterday in connection with the fatal stabbing of Mr Cunningham in Galway in June.

Gardaí at Galway investigating the murder of Kieran Cunningham on the 3rd of June this year announced that yesterday evening they were holding a 27-year-old male in the Dublin area in connection with the incident.

It is believed Mr Cunningham, from Slieve Finn in Co Galway, died from stab wounds he received minutes after leaving a nightclub in the city centre.

The 20-year-old was taken by Gardai to UCHG where he was pronounced dead.

Two Men Arrested In Connection With Dublin Burglary
Two men have been arrested in connection with a house burglary in Dublin The incident occurred at a home in the Beaumont area at 2pm on Wednesday, 28 June. The homeowners, a couple in their 80s, had returned to their house following a visit to their local bank, having withdrawn money which was intended to pay for a family holiday.

Weather Warning Issued For Ireland
Met Éireann has issued a Status Orange weather warning for the region. The wind warning was issued on Sunday night (8 March) and is expected to remain in place until at least midnight on Monday. The warning if for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo. The forecaster said: "Southerly winds of mean speed 60-65km/h.

Witness Sought After 'Tiger Kidnap' Attempt
A search for witnesses has begun after a Tiger Kidnapping attempt in Dublin, yesterday. Gardaí at Balbriggan revealed this morning they have launched an investigation into the abduction of the spouse of a bank official from her home in Hacketstown, Skerries, Co Dublin.
