Two Arrested And Tools Recovered After Theft
Two men have been arrested and a large cache of tools recovered after an investigation into the theft of a 4x4 vehicle in Galway.
Gardaí in the Ballinasloe area, investigating the theft of a 4 x 4 vehicle in March from Dublin, yesterday arrested the two males in their mid 20’s in Caltra, Co Galway after intercepting a vehicle at a checkpoint in the area at approximately 4pm.
As part of a follow-up operation Gardaí carried out a number of searches of houses in the Ballinasloe and Loughrea areas.
In the course of the searches, Gardaí recovered a significant number of tools worth an estimated €10,000 and a Mercedes van believed to have been stolen previously.
The total value of items recovered is estimated to be in the region of €65,000.
The recovered tools are believed to be have been stolen in the West of Ireland over the last couple of months.
Gardaí are now endeavouring to locate owners for this property.
Among the items recovered are chain saws, angle grinders, power washers, boxes of tools, floodlights, electric drills, an assortment of electric saws, and other items.
A comprehensive list of these items will be available on the Garda website www.garda.iefrom Friday at 10.00am.
Members of the public that think they own this property are asked to contact Ballinasloe Garda Station on Friday between 11am and 4pm on 090 - 9631890.

Garda Investigate Shooting At Co Cork Home

Gardaí Seek To Reunite Owners With Stolen Jewellery
Photographs of jewellery recovered as part of Operation Fiacla has been made available by garda in an effort to return the items to their owners. The pieces were recovered yesterday after gardaí stopped and searched a car in Rathcoole, Co Dublin. Four men were arrested in connection with the jewellery find.

€9,000 Missing From Garda Evidence
An investigation has been launched after the discovery that €9,000 went missing from an evidence bag at a garda station in Co Dublin. The money was part of €26,000 recovered following a robbery at a shop and post office in Lusk in January.

Cork Shooting Probed
Gardaí in Cork have launched an investigation after shots were fired at a house in Cork City in the early hours of Sunday morning. The shooting happened at the house on Kilmore Road in the Knocknaheeney area just before 2am. It is understood that four adults were upstairs in the house at the time, but no one was injured in the attack.

Three Arrested Over Dublin Shooting
Three men have been arrested following a shooting in Dublin on Sunday. The shooting happened in the Finglas area of the city in the early hours of the morning. It is believed to have been sparked by two men allegedly trying to steal motorcycles from a house.
