Arrested Follow Cannabis Seizure
Two men have been arrested after a cannabis seizure in Co Kildare.
In the joint Garda and Customs operation, carried out on Saturday, Gardaí stopped and searched a truck at Rathcoole, County Dublin shortly after 7.00pm. As part of the same operation a van was stopped on the N4 near Celbridge, Co Kildare.
A quantity of cannabis herb was recovered in both vehicles and subject to analysis may have a street value of up to €600,000. Both vehicles contained approximately 25kg of the suspected drug. Two men in their 30s were arrested. The men, with addresses in Dublin, are detained under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act in Clondalkin Garda Station.
Officers from the Garda National Drugs Unit, Customs Officers and Gardai from Tallaght and Clondalkin Drugs Units carried out the operation.
The two men who were detained in relation to the seizures were released without charge last night, however, a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Gardaí Arrest 45 In Major Drugs Operation
A total of 45 people have been arrested in the past 48 hours in Gardaí a crackdown on the sale and supply of heroin and “crack” cocaine in the Dublin region. The operation, which involved Garda drug units from Kevin Street, Pearse Street and Store Street stations, resulted in 150 charges being brought, according to Gardaí this morning.

More than €2 million worth of drugs have been seized by Gardaí in Donaghmede, Dublin. Cannabis resin, cannabis herb and cocaine, worth and estimated €2.1 million were seized as part of an operation targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in North Dublin.

Gardaí have seized drugs worth an estimated €200,000 and shut down what it has described as an "internet drug distribution centre". Garda said the raid was carried out as part of a worldwide investigation into the sale of illegal drugs using an encrypted network, known as Darknet.
