Award Of €10,000 Offered Over Pheonix Park Victim
A €10,000 reward has gone on offer for information leading to the identification of the woman found stabbed to death in Phoenix Park last week.
After a week of little progress in identifying the woman, the cash is being put up as gardaí continue their investigation.
Gardaí are still urging people to come forward with information, especially those who had been in Phoenix Park in the days leading up to the 5th of August.
So far detectives have been unable to identify the dead woman and are investigating the possibility that she may be a foreign national, although jewellery found on the victim were medals "clearly associated with Ireland and Catholicism".
On Thursday, a coroner's examination found she died as a result of internal trauma caused by multiple stab wounds to the upper body.
The deceased was 4' 10", of medium build, with short brown hair described as not quite shoulder length and aged in her late 30s to early 40s approximately.
She was wearing a green/grey fleece zip-up jacket, a rugby type top with red and blue stripes and three quarter length pink leggings. Her toenails were painted with gold nail varnish.
She also wore a Saint Anthony type gold chain necklace tied with a piece of string, a silver cross and chain necklace and gold hoop type earrings described as 'Creole Type'.
A white scarf and black zip-up jacket were also found nearby, as was a black ladies bicycle.
Anyone with information, or who was in the general area in the days leading up to the discovery, are asked to contact the Garda incident room at Cabra Garda Station 01-666 7400, the Garda Confidential Line 1-800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
