Four Held In Carroll Murder Probe

News has emerged today that Gardaí investigating a fatal shooting earlier this year have made arrests in Dublin.

They were detained as detectives hunt for the killers of John Carroll who died on 18th February after a shooting at a public house in The Coombe, Dublin 8.

The police said today that, following a number of planned searches on premises in Dublin City on Monday, four people were arrested.

They are three males and a female, with two of the males being in their 30s and 50s respectively, while the third is a juvenile. The female is in her mid 20s.

It was also revealed that two firearms and a quantity of ammunition were seized.

All four are currently detained in various Dublin City Garda Stations under Section 30 Offences Against The State Act.

The original incident was in Grumpy Jacks, a bar in The Coombe, Dublin 8.

Two males on a motorcycle pulled up outside the pub and the pillion passenger went inside and singled out a 33-year-old man.

He then shot him a number of times at short range with a handgun.

The injured party was taken to St James Hospital where he died a short time later.
