Roads Claim Latest Victims
There's an investigation underway in Co Westmeath after the death in hospital of a road accident victim who was fatally injured nearly two weeks ago.
Gardaí in Ballynacargy are seeking help over what is now a fatal single vehicle road traffic collision.
It occurred at Balroe, shortly after 6.00am on Saturday, 8th August.
At the time, a 25-year-old man was very badly injured when the car - in which he was the sole occupant - collided with a wall.
He was taken to Mullingar General Hospital and subsequently transferred to Beaumont Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after 4.00pm yesterday.
To help in their probe, the police have asked that anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact Ballynacargy Garda Station on 044-9373122.
Meanwhile, in the North, the PSNI have said that no other vehicle was involved either in the overnight fatal accident of a tricycle-style motorbike.
A 55-year-old man died in the crash on the Derrycarne Road near Portadown on Tuesday evening.

More people have been killed in separate incidents on Ireland's roads during the weekend. Ireland's roads have been a theatre of tragedy for three young men this weekend, after a string of fatalities. In the most recent incident, a man aged 27 was fatally injured when the SUV and trailer he was driving crashed at Shangort, Partry, Castlebar. There was no other vehicle involved in the crash.

Teenager Shot Dead In County Meath
A teenage boy has died after being shot in the stomach in County Meath. The 17-year-old victim, originally from Nigeria, was shot at the Court Apartments in Dunboyne at around 1:30am this morning. Gardaí have revealed two men entered the building and fired the shot through a door, fatally wounding the boy.

Two Dead In Separate Collisions
Two people have died on Ireland's roads after traffic collisions in Dublin and Kilkenny in the last two days. In the latest incident, a male aged 19 was fatally injured when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a stationary vehicle. His body was taken to Tallaght Hospital.
