More Deaths Despite Weekend Of Road Carnage
Two more people have been killed in separate accidents on Ireland's roads.
Monday's fresh fatalaties come after a weekend of carnage that claimed three lives.
In the first incident, a 32-year-old male driver of a van was fatally injured when his vehicle collided with a stationary combine harvester. Nobody else was injured in the crash.
Gardaí are now investigating the collision, which occured near Raphoe, Co Donegal yesterday at 4.00pm.
The dead man, who is from the Lifford area, was an employee of An Post and he was driving a postal van at the time of the collision.
The road between Raphoe and Ballindrait is closed to facilitate forensic collision investigators and will remain closed until mid-day today (Tuesday).
In latest incident, a 24-year-old man was killed when his motorcycle was in collision with a car in Co Offaly. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the car was taken to Tullamore General Hospital, but was not thought to be seriously injured.
The incident occurred at 6.50pm, near Kinnitty, in Offaly on the Roscrea to Kinnitty Road.
The road at the scene is closed pending forensic collision investigators carrying out a technical examination in the area and Gardai are investigating.
Yesterday's crashes follow a spate of separate road accidents in counties Westmeath, Kerry and Antrim over the weekend which claimed three lives, including two teenagers.

Man Dies In Blarney Road Crash
A man has been killed in a two vehicle road crash that occurred between Parkanna Cross Rd and Davis Cross on the Blarney to Bweeng Road at approximately 11.30am on Tuesday. The man in his 20's was fatally injured when his car collided with a lorry. He was the sole occupant of the car and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The collision which occurred at Cloghnadromin, Ballysimon, CoLimerick at approx 1.30pm on Sunday.

A number of separate road crashes this weekend have claimed four lives, including a father and son. John Gallagher, 55, and his 24-year-old son Sean died when their car collided with another vehicle at Burt on Saturday morning. The collision occurred at the junction of Slab Road, Burt, on the Main Letterkenny to Derry Road at approximately 10.

Woman Killed In Road Traffic Collision
A woman has died in a road traffic collision in Co Galway. The incident happened on the Oranmore to Craughwell road yesterday 6 July at around 4:20pm. The victim, who was in her fifties, was fatally injured when the car she was driving collided with another vehicle, approximately 3 kilometres from Craughwell. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
